This view point along the Crooked River within Smith Rock State Park is a quaint spot I have stopped at many times. There's a small sandy area under a very large old Pine tree that's a perfect spot to take a few photos, have a beverage, and just take in the incredible view. The geology here is evident of the sacred antiquity of the park. So as I gaze in awe at the surrounding formations, the few old growth pine trees that thankfully were left for us to enjoy, and the scattered remanants of years of weather related decay I can't help but think of the past and all that has contibuted to this amazing area.
